Spin Magazine Analysis

When analysing this magazine the key elements i found were:

The headline is behind the text meaning the magazine must be well known because it’s risky to hide the headline of a new magazine because people won’t be as aware of it.

The text is mainly white or black making it very simple. Even the text in the magazine title is white. However, all the white text has a background colour, which makes it stand out from the background. The main headline is in bigger font size but still the same colour. No black text has a background colour, as it doesn’t need it, the text is already emphasised enough by being black on a white background.

This promotional offer is helped stand out from the rest of the other articles by the use of a circle. The circle helps notify the reader of the promotion. The promotion might even influence the reader enough to buy the magazine in the first place. The font colour is the same colour as the magazine title making it equally as important as the name meaning that readers should look at it.

Eye contact by the model can help attract the attention of readers; it looks more personal as they could get the feeling that she’s looking at them. Meaning more focus can be attracted from the eyesight, which could lead to the magazine selling more. Her pose is also quite attention grabbing as well, she is in a very seductive pose and is looking down at the camera, showing her importance.

The models clothes are also very dark, which helps make her blend in with the black text. Meaning you’ll be able to focus on both the picture and text individually as there isn’t a very bright or dominant colour. She is also wearing very revealing clothing and her hands are by her waist which could attract a lot more male readers.
